  49. the “starter template” button in astra did not work for me, my workaround was installing “starter templates” plugin manually. Not sure if this is proper practice but it seems to have worked for me.

  61. This is not set by step tutorial. This just what’s possible in WP tutorial. You will not learn much about how to do, you will learn what is possible to do in WP. Gave up halfway. Could not listen to- We can, we can, we can do this and that all the time.

  67. could anyone help me with the process of importing starter templates theme into my wordpress? I got stuck on loading “Importing Content” at 25%. Tried viewing the Starter Templates documentation regarding the error, and still haven’t found any solution. For more context, I created the wordpress via docker with Ubuntu OS that I control remotely, I am using the latest version of the wordpress image, so outdated tools shouldn’t be a problem i guess.

  69. I was enjoying your video, following the steps, but when I got to the place where I was supposed to edit with Elementor, the button wasn’t there. I fiddled around with my plugins a bit, and finally got the button (not sure how), and then when I clicked on it, it said that my site doesn’t have a default kit, and that it appeared to have been deleted. I don’t know how to start over, how to retrieve it from the trash, or anything. Could you please help me know what went wrong, and how to fix it?

  129. Thanks for the video, although I have to say that I’m not impressed with WordPress. I guess it would be OK for someone using it a lot to set up a complex website, but for a novice to get something simple up and running quickly, it does not seem great. For me is regularly hangs up. I was not even able to change my logo as described here. What I ended up with was a bank white box instead of the image I uploaded and then yet another hanging up.

You DO NOT need a domain name or hosting service just to learn how to use WordPress. The title is grossly misleading.   135. Anybody have trouble setting the logo width? I can’t scale it up by much.

    EDIT: I found a fix. Just move the slider to the size you desire before uplading the logo, then upload the new logo file. If it does not work choose the default logo and it should look bigger, then change it to yours. Now you should be able to change its size up to that particular width you initially uploaded the file with. So if you uploaded it at 600 px you can change it between 50-600 px, if uploaded at 100, then between 50-100 px.

  138. I am halfway through the video, yet 90% through building my site. Thank you! There is one thing I have a question about, though. I am still logging in using wp-admin. I always thought for security reasons we are supposed to hide the login page. Is that not required any longer? Or is that covered later in the video? Again, I am just past the halfway mark.

Great video @beau but quick one, did you use pro or free versions of Astra and Elementor, cause i followed your tutorial exactly and the first thing i noticed is the logo in my header isn’t visible, even after i changed it, the banner image just under the navigation menu isn’t also visible for me.
